Saturday’s game went very well with loads of positives to take away from the game. We showed what we could do with the ball constantly breaking the game line and threatening Hartpury's defence. I really enjoyed the game and was very pleased to have my last minute try.
I was very fortunate to get the ball but my body was feeling very fatigued towards the end of the game. Suddenly the ball was kicked into my corner with Kieran catching it, then drawing my man in and giving me the ball in little space. After handing off Hartpury's inside centre I soon realised that I had the chance to score and set off down the pitch. Finally making it to the line I extended my body to its limit touching down in the corner. I felt very happy and although losing kept my head high.
Although I have only been at the club for a couple months I am really enjoying my time up here. Everyone has been very welcoming and positive towards me and I’m learning something new every week. Steve Perry has been very helpful to me as a coach giving me helpful advice on to further improve my performance. I still have a lot to learn but having goals for every game is a way of helping. I find the atmosphere of the home games amazing; so far I have not played in front of crowds like we get at home. But it emphasises the level we play at, I look forward to the rest of the season and hope to keep on improving every game.
