Old flood lights removed
The end of an era. The old flood lights that have been in use at Launceston Rugby Club since 1985 were taken down today, Saturday 4th August.
With equipment loaned by John Fry of Boyton, driven by him and his staff Daren and supervised by Zac, with club assistance from Graham and Lloyd Duke, Mike Haines and Miles Tumon, the 8 poles were slowly lowered, unbolted in half and taken to a new home to go round a riding centre.
The lights were originally put up in 1985 (?) and were the best in the area and Cornwall which enabled us to hold evening county games. Unfortunately the years took their toll with lights slowly degrading and reflectors loosing their brightness.
The new lights are up and are currently awaiting the supply and fitting of a new transformer and switching system from Western Power.
Also thanks to Donna Tumon for the supply of well needed pasties mid morning!
