Here we go again a week away from our first fixture of the 2012/13 national league 2 season. It has come around very fast, with new coaches - players and - committee we are all very eager to get the campaign under way. What an opening couple of weeks we have ahead of us, a massive home game to kick start everything then we go over the trenches and battle with the reds.
We are beginning to look more like a squad now as initially numbers were low in the opening weeks of preseason. Things have picked up and the preseason fixtures which we have played have been very testing. There are a number of new faces around polson bridge including, another Webb, Nielson Webber who has joined us from Barnstaple along with team mate and ex polson youngster Richard Friend, within both of these scrum halfs i see a great balance and two completely different styles of player which I think will be of massive benefit. From Truro College several players have joined the all black ranks England u18 hopeful Matt bolwell, prop Mike Roach, second row Joab Murphy, centre Tom Hendrickson and winger Luke Tidball. All have a lot to learn but are more than capable of playing at a high level. Ex launceston favourite BJ Chapman has come back to create some new Cornish All Black memories as we go into what I believe will be a season of tough fixtures.
So what have I been doing over the summer other than training and coaching. Myself and Sam Chapman have opened our own strength and fitness training centre called TrainingZone Looe, we offer group training classes in cross training and kettlebell training as well as being open to the public to do their own training regimes, personnel training, tailored programmes and also nutritional advice. It has been an adventure into the unknown so far but people are coming up to train and are coming back for more which is great. So it has been all go so far and I m looking forward to seeing you all down at the club throughout the season. Cheers and gone.
