Firstly, apologies to the under 16s lads who played today, I can't include you in the team lineup (until next season), so I will make sure you all get a mention here. The opportunity was taken in this friendly at Liskeard for some of next seasons Under 17s to have a run out with the current Colts squad. Alfie Craddock, Ollie Sandercock, Charlie Tummin, Laurie Armstrong and Ollie Bebbington all started and Harry Bradley and Josh Rowland came on in the second half.
The game started with a big hit from captain Aiden Jacob before the home side went on to keep the All Blacks penned in their own half for a lengthy period. Strong defensive tackling, especially from Alfie Craddock, Ben Luke, Charlie Tummin and Ollie Sandercok kept them out. Once the All Blacks broke away they went on to secure a clean sheet win. The first try went to the young winger Ollie Bebbington down the left flank. A little later a great break from Toby May, Laurie Armstrong and Ollie Bebbington allowed Chae Jenkins to drive over, again on the left wing. A lovely offload from Aiden Jacob put Ollie Bebbington in over the try line, unfortunately he lost the ball before he could ground it. The second half saw a single try, again coming down the left wing, this time for Reuben Noy-Scott scoring under the posts. Toby May converted to make the final score 17 - 0 to the All Blacks on a wet and very heavy pitch.
Congratulations to the Under 16s, looks like we will have just as strong a squad next season as we have this.
