The Most Improved Player was the first of the club’s “Oscars” and was first awarded in 1971-72. The Player of the Year award was introduced in 1976-77, for which the Richard Elliffe Trophy was presented in 1977-78. The Colt of the Year and then the Junior Colt awards followed although these were not awarded in those years when we did not have a Colts. There are some gaps in the records and if anyone can help fill these we would be glad to hear from them

The club first toured at Easter 1955 and thereafter a biannual tour became a regular feature of the fixture list. The first overseas tour was to Dublin in 1965. The traditional full-club tours died out in the early 1980s, but the Tigers and then the Stags kept the touring tradition going and regular overseas tours began in 2001.
