Club Dinner Wranga Update Club AGM

The club dinner on Friday was a great success with 90 people attending - a good cross-section of the club. Guest speaker Andy Goode was well received and managed to keep his jacket free of mashed potato. Thanks go to Richard Watkins and Tom Chandler who organised the event, the bar staff, and Ross Dewey and his team for the food. The end of season players’ awards were announced and the winners were -

Player of the Year was Lewis Kelsey - for his try scoring and tackling with his face
Players Player of the Year was also Lewis Kelsey - for the same reasons
Most Improved Player was Sam Nunn – for a successful conversion to full back
2nd XV Player of the Year was Mark Symmonds – for his versatility and consistent performance
2nd XV Most Improved Player was Jamie Anderson – for his consistent performance
3rd XV Player of the Year – Matt Stark who has come through the minis and juniors and was outstanding at number 7
Colt of the Year was Kurt Allbright – who played well and did not miss a game or training session

Well done everyone

The full story of the season, with team photographs is attached to the email copy of this edition..

We have received an update on Wranga Reeve, which is that physically he is coming on gradually but has some short-term memory problems which makes him very frustrated. He is still at Walsgrave, waiting for a place at Heathcote Rehabilitation Centre. Visiting is welcomed but still needs to be limited - contact Jane or Jess if you want to go (Jane 07976228755 - Jess 07870653682). Visiting hours are 2pm - 3pm (4pm on Sundays) and every evening 6.30pm - 8pm. Jane and Jess thank everyone for their continuing messages of goodwill and support.
