The first XV kick off with a friendly against Lutterworth at home on Saturday (20th) at 3.00. Drag yourself away from the dressage, clay pigeon shooting and synchronised swimming and enjoy some live rugby. The Colts are away at Lutterworth. The first XV also have a second warm up friendly against Old Coventrians on Thursday 25 August at Coventry, kicking off at 7.30. an updated fixture list, which includes the Colts games and VP lunch dates is attached below.
The Warwickshire Cup draws have now been announced. In the First team Shield we have been drawn away at Silhillians and will be played on 3 September. The Second team are home to Barkers Butts (to be played before 25 September) and if we survive that we will be at home to Rugby Lions.
Most of the free tickets to the Wasps versus Yorkshire Carnegie game on Sunday have gone but there may still be a few left behind the bar so please call in on Thursday evening or Saturday afternoon if you are interested in going. On the subject of Wasps tickets, we mentioned back in January that Wasps have introduced a discount scheme for rugby club members. If you buy tickets from Wasps our club will get a 20% cashback on your purchase. The procedure is as follows. Copy and paste the URL address below. This will take you into the Wasps website. You will then be asked to register or sign-in (if you are already registered). Then go to Buy Tickets to make your purchase. The system will recognise you as a Leamington member and credit your purchases to the club. If you are already registered it will pick up that you are a Leamington member and back track earlier purchases and credit these. This could be a good source of income and we hope you will take advantage of it. With the minimum of effort we made £200 last year with very little effort and could do much better. The URL App is being attached to our website for easy access sometime this week. Any problems, lets me know
