In an effort to update you all of events off the field prior to the start of the senior season on Saturday 6th September at Esterchem Park.

The first 1st team home game will be on Sat 13th September v Silhillians RFU and will be played on the top pitch 3pm ko as cricket is still being played. The bar will be open from 1.30pm.Please park all cars on the clubhouse grounds and respect residents when parking.
.
Saturday 6th September, the 2nd team are away at Ashbourne with 3rd team at home
v Ashbourne 3pm ko, bar open at 2pm .

Please visit the club website for all updated games .

At present the bar and club house are presently being revamped with support from local company Breezehouse and the beers will be changed over to be a Joules beer with some superb sponsorship from Joules brewery . Once completed the bar will be managed by Mr Alan Ward and his wife , Lynne, who are well known to many Leek RUFC members as Alan and Lynne are also the landlords of The Cock Inn , Derby Street, Leek. This will hopefully be an exciting partnership venture as we seek to improve the clubhouse for both members and the wider community .

Please see website for further updates on how you can book the club house for private parties etc.

The 1st team pitch at Esterchem park has had the drainage work completed during the pre season after the support of the Sports England grant and the first game will be on
27th September when the 1st team will be playing Stratford on Avon.

On this day will also be a beer festival and live music post game, bar open from 12-30am . On Friday 26th September, the bar will be open from 5-30pm and in conjunction with the local residents assoc a quiz will be commencing from approx.8pm, teams of 6.

We are looking for sponsors for the beer kegs at £100 per keg where sponsors will be given some pints and names on the beer and all over club house and website .Please contacr myself or Andy Poole with names .

We have several other social events planned and arranged throughout the coming season , please view website and face book and support these events . One such event will be Ladies day Saturday 11th Octobert, when as part of the day we will be visited by local MP, Karen Bradley and CEO of Rugby World Cup 2015 and many other bodies , Debbie Jevans CBE . Debbie will be attending after an invite from member , Richard Bowker and she will be shown firsthand experience of how local rugby and funding can assist clubs and areas such as Leek. Please place this date in your diary for your wife's, girlfriends, mothers, daughters etc.

As discussed at this year's AGM the club this year will be charging an entrance fee for all 1st team games of £2 pp and under 16 free , a match day programme will be provided .As you all appreciate as we progress and improve facilities we need to improve income streams and hopefully you can all see those improvements both on and off the field . As a reminder the club do not pay any players.

During recent days we have been subject to an arson attack on the old storage shed causing loss to a great deal of training kit and at the same time a small number of persons are allowing their dogs to foul on all the pitches . We are presently working with the residents association and SMDC as well as local police in an attempt to resolve and improve this situation for all players . We would encourage you all to spread the word , -

Dogs on lead at all times and please ensure you remove any dog fouling, we would ask you to spread this message as this is not acceptable.
Owners found breaching will be subject to prosecution.

The ever developing mini/junior section has also commenced , any new players please attend the club at 10-30am on Sundays where you will be assisted or contact Marcus Midwinter or Edgy for support and help.

On behalf of the players, coaches and committee please support your club and have a great season
