Leek CSOB 5-2 Uttoxeter Town Reserves

Having already secured the division one title Leek CSOB played host to Uttoxeter knowing a victory in this final game would ensure a 10 point lead at the summit.
In a game sponsored by 'Jayne & Ant Pointon' it was fitting that league top scorer & son; Jamie Pointon fizzed home early on to set the tempo. Old boys doubled their advantage soon after when the returning from injury Anderson let a right foot pearler loose into the top corner. Uttoxeter narrowed the deficit just before the interval from the spot.
The second half saw CSOB drive on courtesy of striking duo Pointon & Wain. Pointon got his hat-trick with a header & then a penalty, both supplied & won by the tricky Kieran Wain.
CSOB got their 5th of the game late on when it was the impressive Wain who this time himself wrapped his left wand around the ball to curl home a beauty. The visitors reduced the deficit to 5-2 again with a dubious penalty when Hambleton was judged to have handled.
This 5-2 victory was as slick a performance as CSOB displayed all season. Even more pleasing was that it involved exciting youth products in the shape of Wain, Scotland, Da Silva, Potts & Wainwright.

Following a successful first season back in the Staffs County League, The Chairman of Leek CSOB Steve Rutter said “ Everyone at Leek CSOB would like to thank the staff at Pointon Park for their help and support this season, in particular John Barrett who has now stepped down from his position on the CSOB clubs committee so he can concentrate his efforts on his duties at Pointon Park. John goes with our very best wishes and I am sure that we shall continue to see him on match days. “
