Leek CSOB u15s entertained North Staffs in a top of the table clash and came out comfortable winners to put themselves in pole position for promotion to division 1. The game started quite evenly but CSOB took the lead on 10 mins when Josh Mack chased down a lost cause, he won the ball and laid it back to Declan Heath who in turn squared to Joe Mudd who fired the ball into the top corner. There were 20 mins on the clock when Dom Grindey swung over a corner and Adam Stubbs rose to head home. CSOB were in control now and Declan Heath made it 3-0 following some superb football. It was looking like CSOB could run away with the game but North Staffs got a goal back when poor defending let them in.
The second half started and North Staffs scored in the first minute following another mistake and this lifted them, and they applied pressure for a while until Joe Mudd killed the game off with 2 superb goals.
The first came about after a mix up over a free kick and the ball dropped to Joe 30 yards out, he didn't think twice and fired the ball over the keeper into the net. His hat trick goal was even better, he was even further out and on the volley again stuck the ball over the keepers head into the net. North Staffs scored their best goal towards the end but it was CSOB who came away with 3 well earned points to complete the double over their rivals. North Staffs now sit 1 point above CSOB but having played 4 games more and so leave it to CSOB and Florence to fight it out.
Every single player for CSOB put in a tremendous performance tonight but both Joe Mudd and Adam Stubbs need a special mention for their performances..
