Kieran Scotland was knocked unconscious by a single blow in an unprovoked attack during the league two cup game at home against Whittington, nr Lichfield on Saturday.
Scotland was given the all clear by hospital staff shortly after the assault but was told to rest has he was suffering from concussion.
The attacker who can not be named due to possible legal proceedings was given a straight red card, during his reprimand he also threatened to break the referees legs.
Scotland is expected to make a steady but full recovery.
