Hyde`s squad getting their chances as manager rotates players, nobody is letting him down, tough selection lie ahead with continuous victories.

Leek CSOB 3 Foley FC 0 (Presidents Trophy)

Leek CSOB made it through to the Semi-Final of the President's Trophy after safely dispatching Foley on Saturday afternoon. This was the fourth time the two teams had met this season and Manager Daniel Hyde made a few changes to his starting line-up. Rob Drummond came in at left back and Dale Walters took Jack Bowyer's place in front of the back four. Mitch Cartlidge came back after a long injury and replaced Zak Barker in attack and Nathan Ball replaced Nick Hambleton in the heart of the defence. Drew Bennett & James Cowburn returned to make the bench whilst Will Bown was rested after his recent illness. CSOB settled well into the game and their movement and fitness were evident from the start. CSOB's two front players, Jamie Pointon and Mitch Cartlidge were showing well and Mitch Shenton had a good chance but his final shot from outside the box went just wide. Because of their pace and movement CSOB were getting plenty of chances but they appeared not to have their shooting boots on. In the twenty seventh minute, Foley blocked a shot but the ball rebounded to the feet of the onrushing Mitch Shenton who on this occasion made no mistake and smashed the ball home and give CSOB a deserved lead. CSOB were on top but they were making hard work of increasing their lead through missed chances and the quality of their final ball.

CSOB carried on where they left off and had several chances go begging to double their lead. Despite their dominance, CSOB were only a single goal to the good and this left the door open to Foley. Carl Batchelor almost made CSOB pay for their missed chances but his long range effort was brilliantly tipped over for a corner by Ashley Knight. In the fifty second minute, Mitch Shenton delivered a brilliant cross from the right and Jamie Pointon headed in to double CSOB's lead. Foley were now starting to tire and they could not match CSOB for stamina, and movement. Dan Hyde made a couple of changes on the hour mark with Zac Barker coming on for Mitch Cartlidge who had put in a good shift for the team on his first game back and Jack Bowyer replaced Dale Walters in the middle of the park. Minutes later the final change saw Jim McMullen replace Mark Fox and the changes seemed to enhance CSOB's dominance. In the eighty fifth minute, Rob Drummond picked up the ball on the CSOB left and following good interplay with Mitch Shenton he found the back of the net which his overall play had deserved.
