Everybody at Leek CSOB Ladies F.C is here to show their full support to Laura through this very difficult time.

Leek CSOB Ladies F.C travelled to Lichfield on Sunday to take on mid-table side Lichfield City Ladies F.C, and it proved to be a very close match indeed. Despite a fifth goal of the season for Christina Alice Eley mid-way through the first half, the ladies narrowly missed out on the points with a 2-1 defeat. Manager Phil Bruce found this hard to take, he said "I felt massively disappointed for the ladies at the end of the match as we could so easily have got ourselves at least a point from the match. When Christina equalized for us mid-way through the first half, I thought it would be our chance to get our fourth win of the season on the board, but Lichfield used the wind and the slope well in the second half, grabbing the decisive goal and it wasn't to be for us. There wasn't anything between the two sides and we tried to play more Football than them. It shows that we have progressed well as we lost 7-1 to them earlier on in the season, and now it's about reacting strongly and getting prepared for a big match next Sunday, away against Wyrley Ladies F.C, where we will be looking for a good performance and hopefully get some much deserved points on the board.

Before the match on Sunday, the ladies observed a minutes' silence, and wore black armbands during the match to show their respects for the tragic Passing of striker Laura Emery's Father, who died last Friday from Cancer. Laura Emery played the full 90 minutes and put in a really brave performance. Everybody at Leek CSOB Ladies F.C is here to show their full support to Laura through this very difficult time.

Leek CSOB Ladies F.C are away to Wyrley Ladies F.C in the league next Sunday, 2pm kick-off.
