Chelsey Berwick and Emma Roach have committed to Leek CSOB Ladies F.C for the 2015/16 season

Chelsey Berwick and Emma Roach have committed to Leek CSOB Ladies F.C for the 2015/16 season.

Berwick plays in centre midfield and has previously played for Port Vale, Hamil Road and Kidsgrove Athletic. She has impressed so far during pre-season, and on deciding to sign for Leek, she says "When the opportunity came to sign for Leek it was a chance I just couldn't turn down. The lure of a friendly team and more opportunities to develop in Football made my decision that bit easier. I now can't wait to start the season and we are confident we're going to have a strong season and surprise a lot of teams"

Roach, who also plays in centre midfield, is looking ahead to doing her bit to help the club to further progress. She says "The spirit of the girl has inspired me to sign for Leek. I believe that the foundations are in place and the club can go far with experience"

Manager Phil Bruce is delighted with both players coming to the club. He says "I am really pleased that both Chelsey and Emma have decided to come and sign for Leek. They both play in centre midfield and I think that they would be able to compliment one-another and the team as a whole. Chelsey brings in youth and enthusiasm, plus she has already played Football at a good standard over the last few years so has a good level of skill, whilst Emma brings in a lot of experience, leadership and quality which we need, and I know will help everybody on and off the pitch. These two are the types of players that I want at the club to help to push us onwards and upwards, and I am confident that they will both do really well"
