Leek Town Pumas kicked off the season with a tricky fixture against last seasons cup finalists Forest Park Strikers.
On a difficult pitch that could have done with mowing it was the Stikers who looked the more dangerous in the opening exchanges and they duly went ahead on 15 minutes when a long ball beat the Pumas back line and was prodded past the Pumas advancing keeper.
However as the half wore on the Pumas found their feet and began to create chances of their own and found themselves level just before the break when Josh Oultram
pulled the ball back from the by-line for Tom Cashmore to cooly slot home from eight yards.
The second half saw the Pumas up the tempo and they soon established a lead when Oultram made no mistake follwing a through ball from Will Carney
Outlram then doubled his tally when he fired home after being played in by new signing Connor Prince
before he bagged himself a hat trick when finsihing off what was probably the move of the match which began with Luke Lewis
on the edge of his own penalty area and following two or thre slick passes finished with Oultram tapping in at the far post.
So a good performance from the Pumas after a slow first twenty minutes, and hopefully even better performance are to come in the future.
Final Score Forest Park Strikers 1 - 4 Leek Town Pumas
Pumas man of the match was Tyler Simms
