The second game proved every bit as exciting as the first as Rangers looked to add to the three points they won. Town looked to break and trouble the Diamonds defence with their pace and Brown broke through only to be denied a shot at the last second by a great tackle by the defender. Diamonds were always a threat though and Shenton had his busiest game in goal for some time, but he was equal to whatever was thrown at him. And when the ball did beat him Salmon was on hand to clear the ball off the line. Town were good value for the point that the 0-0 scoreline would give them when the game was snatched from them in the cruelest fashion with only seconds left on the clock. Town cleared their lines for the umpteenth time but when the cross/shot was pumped back into the box it found the only place that Shenton could be beaten - the top corner and he stood no chance. Tough luck for the lads but every one of them can hold their heads high for a great performance.
