Crewealex.net reports that the Alex have made a promising start to the pre-season with good run outs against Norton and Nantwich Town, but Davis is still striving for improvement in their next pre-season double header.
Davis is expected to play two teams in each half again, so that all his fit and available players enjoy minutes on the pitch ahead of the seasonal opener at Fleetwood Town on 9th August.
Ahead of the trip to Leek, Steve told crewealex.net: “It will be tough again to play two games in succession but the players came through that last week.
“We have done alright so far. I am satisfied with what I have seen in training and in the games but I am never totally satisfied. There is always room for improvement and I demand a lot from the players. They know that.
“I want them to be more competitive and step that up. Although we have been fairly clinical at Norton and Nantwich we can be better. “
Meanwhile Blues have announced another friendly away at Ball Haye Green on Tuesday 5th August,.
