Experienced and versatile defender Scott Lycett joins the Blues.

Neil Baker has moved swiftly this week to strengthen his squad ahead of the FA Cup tie against Cammell Laird 1907 by signing Scott Lycett. The Club had to fight off competition from several other rivals to secure the players signature.

Scott is an experienced defender and joins Leek Town from Witton Albion, whom he enjoyed promotion with in 2016/17. Indeed he is no stranger to promotion or the EVO-STIK South as he was a member of Sutton Coldfield Town who secured promotion in the play offs against Leek Town in the 2014/15 season.

He began his career as a junior with Port Vale and Manchester City and played reserve football for Leicester City before switching to Congleton Town in 2007 after his release. He then had spells with several non league clubs including Hednesford, Leamington, Kidsgrove Athletic, Halesowen Town, Nantwich, Sutton Coldfield and Witton Albion.

The Club would like to welcome Scott to Leek Town and wish him the best for the forthcoming season, the Club would also like to place on record their thanks to Witton Albion for their prompt action on Friday to release the player.
