Neil Baker has began trimming his squad as the kick-off to the league season on 12th August draws nearer.

The manager has dispensed with all of the trialists with the exception of Troy Baker whilst early signing Michael Williams has also been released.

Ex -Crewe Alexandra and Southport defender Joe Kearns has now signed for the club and Sam Grimshaw has finally agreed terms to remain at Harrison Park after returning from the USA so despite all those shown the exit, Baker’s squad remains 18-strong.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Ben Chapman was unavailable for Saturday’s home win over Mickleover Sports leaving Baker to secure the services of former Bolton Wanderers youngster Will Jaaskelainen.

Jaaskelainen, 19, is the son of former Bolton, West Ham and Wigan keeper Jussi, who won 56 caps for Finland. Will has represented Finland at Under 19 level but was released by Bolton in May.
