Leek Town bounced back from Saturday's disappointing defeat at Glapwell with an excellent 2-0 win at Loughborough Dynamo on Tuesday night.

The home side had more of the possession early on but it was Blues who created the better chances with Wayne Corden and Paul Rutter both only denied by finger tip saves from the Dynamo keeper.

On 26 minutes Rutter beat the keeper to the ball on the edge of the box but his toe poke agonisingly bobbled towards the open goal and then rebounded off the far post.

Immediately after the break Loughborough had their best period and Steve Hodsgon made a couple of smart saves to keep it goalless.

The breakthrough came on the hour when Leek's patient build up was rewarded with a fine cross from Paul Taylor being headed home at close range by Nick Ward.

Eight minutes later Blues scored a spectacular second when Dan Cope (pictured) ended his personal goal drought with a magnificent overhead kick from the edge of the box which dropped into the corner of the net.

Leek comfortably dealt with a late rally from the home side to keep a clean sheet and record a win which lifted them to 9th in the table just four points off a play-off place.
