BLUES DRAW LATEST FRIENDLY

1 week ago By Stevie R

Blues continued with their pre-season programme of friendlies with a trip to Sheffield FC on Saturday.

The fixture proved to be a good work-out between the two teams and by the end of the game honours were pretty even after Leek took an early lead only to be pegged back midway through the opening half.

Leek were severely depleted for this game with several players unavailable including striker Tim Grice who was getting married.

However, it gave Blues’ boss Neil Baker the chance to give the rest of his squad some valuable game time.

Blues started well and took the lead on 3 minutes when Zeph Thomas (pictured) found the back of the net against one of his former clubs.

But the home side began to get on top and equalised with a neat finish mid-way through the half.

The second half was well contested but there were no further goals as both sides cancelled each other out.

Team: Chapman, Green, Kearns, Grocott, Bailey, Chadwick, Brazel, Walford, Thomas, Trickett-Smith, Blake. Subs: Johnson, Herd, Bavanganga
