Blues have been drawn at home to Blyth Spartans in the FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round.

The tie will be played at Harrison Park on Saturday 25th October with £12,500 up for grabs for the winners and more importantly a place in the First Round Proper with the sides from League One and League Two.

The draw means that the Evo-Stik NPL will have at least one representative in the First Round with Blyth plying their trade in the Premier Division.

Spartans currently lie 21st in the table but have won through to this stage of the competition with three victories against fellow Evo-Stik NPL opposition in Darlington 1883, Skelmersdale United and on Saturday, a 2-1 victory at Mickleover Sports.

The Northumberland based side are best known for their Cup exploits in the 1977/78 when they lost out in a fifth round replay at Wrexham after beating Stoke City in the previous round.

However they also enjoyed an excellent run in 2008/09 beating both Shrewsbury Town and AFC Bournemouth en route to a narrow third round defeat against Blackburn Rovers.

It's Blues first appearance at this stage of the completion since 2005/06 when they were beaten 2-0 at Burton Albion then of the Conference.

Lee Casswell welcomed the draw, speaking to The Sentinel he commented:

"I am happy we are at home, but it's not an easy draw. Blyth knocked out Mickleover Sports on Saturday and Mickleover put five past us in the league a week ago, so it's going to be another tough test for us, but we are at home and we have to fancy our chances."
