Blues host Kidsgrove Athletic on Tuesday evening looking to end a run of poor results against their local rivals.

Leek have not registered a win over Grove since Easter Monday in April 2010 when they won 2-1 at Harrison Park.

Since then, Grove have won three of the four league meetings including the last two at Leek (both 1-0) and there has been one draw.

Kidsgrove have also prevailed in two cup meetings since then, the League Cup in 2010/11 (on penalties) and last season's Staffs Cup game.

However the man who masterminded that success, former Grove boss Peter Ward (pictured) has now switched camps and will be in the Blues dugout as part of Lee Casswell's management team.

Nobody knows more about Grove than Wardy who spent five successful seasons at The Seddon Stadium before being surprisingly ousted by the new regime this summer and no doubt Casswell and co will be looking for him to plot his old sides downfall.

New boss, Shaun Hollinshead, has retained around half of the old squad and supplemented it with some experienced heads such as Alan Nagington and Paul Donnelly from Stafford Rangers together with a sprinkling of players that have followed him from Stone Dominoes.

Blues of course, took four players from Grove in the close season and a fifth, Tom Urwin, also served them last season before having a spell at Nantwich Town.

Dan Cope (knee) and Anthony Danylyk (ankle) are both definitely out but Matt Haddrell is expeceted to line-up against his old club despite a broken nose and another Grove old boy, Ricky Bridge will come into the squad.

So the scene is set for an intriguing game of football at Harrison Park on Tuesday night with Kidsgrove looking to maintain their 100% start and Blues out to land their first win of the season and lay the Grove bogey to rest.
