Blues manager Ant Danylyk is again dealing with a lengthening injury list that is hindering his plans.

Adding to the list that already contains James Curley (wrist), Darren Chadwick (blood clot), Ricky Bridge (groin) and the manager himself (ankle), is central defender Aaron Carter (pictured) who was forced to leave the field after suffering a calf injury early in the second half at Sheffield.

Now Danylyk may have to dip into the transfer market yet again after signing two players on loan earlier in the week to bolster his depleted squad.

Joining the club on loan from Port Vale is 19-year old fullback James Gibbons who signed a one-year contract at Vale Park in the summer after starring in the reserves and youth sides last season.

Meanwhile, Blues have completed the loan signing of Stoke City midfielder Jake Dunwoody on a one-month deal and the paperwork was completed in time for the 19-year-old to go straight into the squad for Saturday's match at Sheffield.

Dunwoody joined Stoke from Manchester City and has been described by under-23 manager Glyn Hodges as being “a strong and competitive performer with a good engine and an eye for a goal".
