Lee Casswell is in the process of re-building his squad after over half of last season’s successful team moved on to pastures new.

However the following players have all agreed terms to stay at the club for the forthcoming season.

Anthony Danylyk - Midfield dynamo who was named the Players and Supporters Player of the Year last season and is set to become only the fourth player ever to make more than 400 appearances for the Blues should he play just 33 games this season.

Dan Shelley - Attacking midfield player who has produced many great performances and scored some spectacular goals since joining from Crewe Alexandra in 2012.

Niall Maguire - Niall was in tremendous form early on last season until injury affected the second part of his campaign. The stylish midfielder gets plenty of goals from the middle of the park.

Tim Grice - Prolific goalscorer who topped the charts for the Blues last season with 31 strikes. Tim needs just 22 more goals to become only the third Leek Town player to score a century of goals for the club.

Ashley Jackson - Left back who had a terrific first season with the club after signing from Goole AFC. His energy and commitment made him an instant favourite with the Blues faithful and Casswell was delighted to retain his services after interest from a higher league club.

Danny Smith - Right back twice named in the league team of the year but had his season ruined by an injury which has kept him out since last October.

Casswell has already swooped to add two more players to his squad after agreeing terms with them.

Chris Martin - Goalkeeper who helped Mickleover Sports to win the title last season and was named as the number one in the league team of the year. He has also made over 70 appearances for Part Vale.

James Askey - A commanding central defender from Market Drayton Town. James was the club captain at Drayton and had spent three seasons there after starting his career at the Wolverhampton Wanderers academy.

Casswell has suffered a couple of disappointments in his efforts to bring more new blood into the club, but he’s been running the rule over a number of potential recruits in pre-season training that begun last week

These have included a number of players who have been on the books at Port Vale and Stoke City and further signings will be announced over the next few weeks.

The management team of Casswell, Matt Beeby and Darren Baker have arranged a large number of friendlies in order to assess potential signings.
