After the latest victory at Eccleshall he said, “We are really pleased with how we’ve played since the Ilkeston game, our fitness has improved and we are confident now that this is the way we want to play.
“The squad is taking good shape now but we are still looking to improve and something may happen between now and the start of the season.
“We were happy with the result today and one big plus has been Karl Charlton dropping in at the heart of defence alongside Mark Ruddock”, he added.
Town will train on Monday night with Alsager pulling out of the scheduled friendly due to a lengthening injury list ahead of their first league game next Saturday.
However, Blues still have a midweek friendly with a Port Vale XI visiting Harrison Park on Wednesday, whilst on Saturday they visit Buxton for the annual pre-season game between the sides.
