Lee Casswell expressed his disappointment at losing Tuesday night's home game against Market Drayton Town to the weather reports The Sentinel.

Casswell was hoping to cash in on two home fixtures to lift them into the Division One South play-off spots.

Now he has to rely on tomorrow's clash against Gresley at Harrison Park to boost their points tally.

Leek are just three points off the play-off spots, but Casswell says he was hoping to have more points on board.

"I really wanted Tuesday's game to go ahead because we missed out on Saturday when the game at Basford was postponed.

We had two successive wins under our belt and I thought Tuesday night was a good opportunity to make it three.

"Being in the play-off spots at this time of the year is a nice place to be, but we'll just have to keep plugging away, picking up points and hopefully get in there and stay there."

Leek were play-off finalists last season, beating tomorrow's opponents in the semi-final before losing 2-0 at home to Sutton Coldfield Town in the final.

Meanwhile, the forecast for the weekend in the Leek area is not brilliant, light snow is forecast for the morning, followed by some sleet and rain, so Casswell is keeping his fingers crossed.

"Hopefully the weather won't be too bad and we can get the Gresley game on," said the manager.

The break has enabled one or two players to get over a few niggles, with Ashley Jackson (back), Chris Baker (ribs), Anthony Danylyk (Achilles) and Niall Green (broken wrist) now available again.

Casswell is also hoping winger Omar Haughton, on loan from Port Vale, will play his second game for the club after making his debut in the 1-0 home win over Carlton Town at the end of January.

Casswell says it was a promising debut.

"He played very well, but unfortunately with having our last two games postponed we have not seen a great deal of him." said Casswell who is keen to extend the player's loan spell.

"I will be speaking to Mick Ede at Vale with a view to extending his loan deal, because I think he can be a big player for us.

"Omar said how much he enjoyed the Carlton game, so hopefully we can keep him for a bit longer, maybe even until the end of the season."

Tomorrow's game will be followed by Market Drayton Town on Tuesday night
