Blues moved up a place to 8th in the table with a 3-0 victory at Brigg Town.

After the game Blues’ boss Lee Casswell commented, “I was pleased to get back into league action and get three points on the board after our cup exploits.

“This was a decent fixture to ease us back into the bread and butter of league football scoring 3 goals and keeping a clean sheet.

“We were on top in the opening half but Brigg improved in the second period so credit to them for making it difficult for us.

“I’m just pleased to get a league game under our belts as we continue to play catch-up”, he added.

In squad news defender Danny Smith saw the medical staff at Crewe Alexandra last week for an assessment on the knee he damaged in the home game against Stocksbridge Park Steels at the end of October.

As a result his appointment to see a specialist has been brought forward by four weeks and, depending on the outcome, he could be back playing early in the New Year.

Meanwhile, winger Jordan Johnson will join the warm-up session before the home game against Sutton Coldfield on Wednesday and, if he suffers no reaction to his damaged ankle, he will be included in the squad for the home game against Tividale on Saturday.

Striker Andy Kinsey has been hit with a two-match ban after being sent off at Spennymoor and will sit out the home game against Tividale on Saturday and the Doodson Cup fixture at Stourbridge the following Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Midfielder Niall Maguire has picked up a one-match ban and will miss the game at Lincoln on 6th December.
