Blues played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Sheffield but will be disappointed not to have won the game having led twice.

However if it hadn't been for some late heroics from Ben Chapman then Lee Casswell's side would not have even picked up a point.

Blues went into the game on a very heavy pitch with an unchanged side from the one that won at Sutton Coldfield Town.

Matt Bell had the first effort on goal with his shot being scrambled around the post by Sheffield keeper Jake Eastwood.

Chapman was called into action in the 10th minute when he got down well to save from Zeph Thomas.

Leek went in front in the 20th minute when Ash Jaclson's cross from the left was headed home by Tim Grice for his 19th goal of the season.

Grice was almost on the scoresheet again four minutes later when Eastwood made a hash of a clearance but he was just able to get back to push Grice's chip over the crossbar.

Sheffield looked dangerous on the break and Blues were caught out two minutes before half-time when a long crossfield ball evaded Paul Donnelly and Liam Bryan was in on goal and slid the ball past Chapman.

Town came out with purpose after the break and Jackson had two efforts on goal in the opening three minutes. The first was charged down amid shouts for handball, whilst the second cannoned off the crossbar.

In the 52nd minute Jordan Johnson was played through on goal but his shot was wide of the keeper and the post.

Four minutes later Blues regained the lead when Dan Shelley's corner was missed by Eastwood leaving Darren Chadwick to head home from four yards out.

Credit to Sheffield, they fought back again and ten minutes later a low cross from the right found Warren Burrell who tucked the ball home low into the net.

A few minutes later the visitors were almost in front but a fine save from Chapman getting down low by the foot of the post pushed the effort out for a corner.

Blues pushed for a winner and came close late on when Bell's shot was saved by Eastwood who then got off the floor to deny Johnson's header from the rebound.

Moments later play switched to the other end of the field and Chapman produced a magnificent save to push a goalbound header over the bar from point blank range to preserve a point for Blues.
