There was good news for Blues’ boss Ant Danylyk ahead of the FA Cup on Saturday.

Striker Tim Grice was fit enough to win a seat on the bench after recovering from the ankle injury he picked up late on in the game against Market Drayton four days earlier.

However, Grice wasn’t risked during the game but he will be in contention for next Saturday’s game at Gresley.

Central defender Darren Chadwick missed the FA Cup game on Saturday due to a family holiday but returns to the squad for the Gresley game.

In the absence of Chadwick, and Grice not being risked, Danylyk drafted in winger Sam Grimshaw for his full debut whilst Aaron Carter made his debut and turned in a man-of-the match performance.

Danylyk boosted his squad last week by signing defender Ryan Dicker as well as Ewan Copper and Matthew Halliwell from the club’s under 21’s.

Meanwhile, Ant Danylyk was disappointed when Andy Bratt missed the home game against Market Drayton after reporting ill on the opening day of the season and he has not been in touch since.
