Belper's last-gasp winner on Tuesday took the initiative away from the Blues and handed it to their opponents going into the final round of games.
Lee Casswell's side entertain already relegated Shepshed Dynamo knowing that they have to get three points, but then require a favour from elsewhere to extend the season into next week.
Nothing is guaranteed in football but if Blues can pick themselves off the floor following Tuesday's events then they should be more than capable of seeing off Shepshed.
The Leicestershire side managed by former Leek midfielder Chris White have won only five games all season and recent form shows they have picked up just 2 points from the last 12 games.
Blues are currently on a run of four straight home wins, ironically their previously excellent away form has fallen away at a crucial time with just two points from the trips to Goole, Romulus and Belper and that might well cost them a play-off place.
If Blues do pick up the win, then they need either Sheffield or Belper to drop points. If Sheffield fail to beat Romulus, then Leek will be in the play-offs.
A Belper defeat would do likewise, but if the Nailers draw then Blues need to beat Dynamo by five or more goals, something Belper did when they thrashed Shepshed 6-0 last weekend.
Matt Haddrell (pictured) will certainly be looking to get amongst the goals as a hat-trick will take his tally to 30 for the season.
It promises to be a nail-biting finish and if you can't get to the game you can keep up with all the action on Twitter with live score updates on this site.
