Blues completed their league programme with a 2-0 home defeat in a 'dead rubber' against Lincoln United.

Lee Casswell fielded a side containing amongst others veteran Wayne Corden, coach Darren Baker and a sprinkling of Reserve and Academy players as he rested the majority of the likely starting line-up for Wednesday's play-off semi-final.

One player who did start was midfielder Dan Shelley who made a surprise return from injury and proved his fitness by playing the full 90 minutes.

The only downside for Casswell was that Niall Maguire was forced to leave the field after 31 minutes.

The match itself was played at a pedestrian pace with Lincoln netting a goal in either half.

Both came from close range Scott Ruthuen scored the opener in the 14th minute and Andy Hutchinson wrapped up the victory when he netted 8 minutes from time.

Team: Martin, Donnelly, Corden, Hall (Espley 56), Dicker, (Shilcock, 62), Thompson, Maguire (Oultram, 31), Shelley, Rogers, Lowe, Baker
