Blues boss Neil Baker was relieved to make it past Charnock Richard in the Preliminary Round FA Cup tie.

Baker saw his side come from behind in the last half hour to win 3-2 thanks to a late free-kick from Dan Trickett-Smith.

After the game he commented, “Obviously I’m pleased to get through in the end.

“I thought we were second best for the first hour of the game but found some inspiration late on to put them under pressure and scored the goals that took us through”.

"However, we are still not playing fluently and we have to improve. At the moment I am happy just to be getting the results."

Bluws now travel to Northern Counties East League side Parkgate on Wednesday night and Baker admitted to knowing little about them.

"Unfortunately we haven't had the opportunity to have them watched. They didn't play on Saturday and the logistics at this level means things don't always fall into place to watch the opposition."

"It's always useful, not only to find out how they play, but to see what the playing surface and stadium are like. However we will go up there and give it our best."

Blues will be boosted by the return of Matt Bailey and Niall Maguire to the squad for the trip to South Yorkshire, but Niall Green remains suspended and Joe Kearns is sidelined through illness.
