The Blues injury list is at a manageable level despite defender Ryan Dicker taking a knock on his ankle at Sutton Coldfield on Saturday.

However, midfielder Niall Maguire missed the victory after tweaking his groin during training last week and is likely to be rested ahead of the Staffs Senior Cup Quarter Final against Chasetown at Harrison Park on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, club skipper Sam Hall made a welcome return to the squad at Sutton Coldfield after accidentally taking a boot in the face in the Doodson Cup game at the Central Ground last week.

To date Leek are only half-way through their league campaign mainly as a result of successful cup exploits this season.

But, far from being a hindrance, Blues boss Lee Casswell welcomed games in the FA Cup, FA Trophy, Staffordshire Senior Cup and the Doodson Sports Cup saying, “I’m delighted with our progress in the cup competitions because it has enabled me to give chances to the whole squad.

“These games are an opportunity to give players games and are a good thing for the squad strength”.

Blues have played no fewer than 15 cup games so far this term with at least two more to come in the Staffs Senior Cup and Doodson Sports Cup.
