Blues 5-2 victory in the Buildbase FA Trophy against Loughborough Dynamo set or equalled a number of records.

Five is the highest number of goals Leek Town have ever scored in an away tie in the FA Trophy. It also equals our highest ever tally in any FA Trophy match along with the 5-2 victory over Bedworth United in 2014/15 and the 5-5 draw against Wycombe Wanderers way back in 1985/86.

Aaron Bott's hat-trick was the first by any Leek player in the FA Trophy since Martyn Smith treble against Runcorn in January 1992 which was way before Bott (pictured) was even born!

The striker has now hit two hat-tricks this season accounting for all his six goals for Blues so far. Already only Tim Grice (6) and Dave Sutton and Dave Whittaker (3 each) have hit more hat-tricks on their Leek Town careers.

Meanwhile, progress in the FA Trophy means at least two more cup ties this coming week with the First Qualifying Round tie at Stamford following Tuesday's Integro Cup match at home to Newcastle Town.

Our next scheduled league game is away at Radcliffe on Tuesday 30th October, but a win over Newcastle will mean another Integro Cup tie against Runcorn Linnets that night or if Saturday's match against Stamford is drawn then there will be a replay in the Trophy instead.

All of which makes it likely we may not play another league match this month leaving us with only 8 league games played this season and by time the Stamford game is played, 9 out of the last 13 games will have been in various cup competitions!
