Good away win for the Ladies in this West Midlands Regional Women's League Division 1 North, local derby.

Pleasing performance today and every player did really well. We now have 6 wins and a draw from our last 7 games in all competitions so hopefully can keep this good run going

Leek Travelled to Longton for a league fixture against their nearest league neighbours.
Leek had two early chances and both Katie Maya and Elise Skelding fired just wide of the goal. Leek's pace up front became apparent early on and Florence were at full stretch to cope.
Florence then broke free and it took a good save from Leek Keeper Hannah Austin to keep them out. Leek created two or three more chances but could not capitalise.
25 minutes in Emma Smith found Izzy Wretham who raced through to make it 1-0 to Leek.
Leek went onto the attack again shortly after the restart and Alice Painter tried to cross in from the right hand side of the 18 yard box but the ball was blocked and rebounded to her, she then chipped a shot over the keepers head and into the empty net to make it 2-0. Florence tried to attack but Leek defended very well. Midfielders Shannon Moores and Amber Stanway battled hard and kept supplying the Leek forwards. Leek had several more chances but could not add to the two goals. Lacey Smith was then introduced for her first game for Leek Town after being signed on a transfer from Stone Dominoes and showed some good touches before the break.
Half time Florence 0-2 Leek Town

4 minutes into the second half Lacey Smith picked up the ball and fired a good shot which looked goal bound all the way but the Florence keeper made an excellent save.
10 minutes later Izzy Wretham put Lacey Smith in again and this time she slotted past the keeper for 3-0.
Florence had not given up though and produced some good passages of play. Florence then looked like they had got a striker through on goal but Centre back Charlotte Bromley just got to her with a excellent tackle.
Emily Boon then had a good run down the left and got the ball to Katie Maya and just like two weeks previous at Loughborough rounded 4 players before firing into the net to make it 4-0 to Leek. 10 minutes before time Elise Skelding found herself 1 v 1 with the keeper who got her hand to the shot, Skelding managed to get to the ball but a defender managed to get to her just before she could get her shot away.
Leek then had another chance but fired over the bar.
