Leek Started on the front foot and 10 minutes in centre half Emma Smith brought the ball out of defence well into the Wyrley half and found Izzy Wretham with a good ball. Wretham then scored a very good goal from the edge of the box beating the Wyrley keeper. Leek had several more attacks but could not get a good strike on goal with Wyrley defending well.
Wyrley then hit Leek on the break and equalised with a well taken goal.
Leek then forced a series of corners and from one of these Izzy Wretham found Shannon Moores who scored with a good strike from 15 yards to make it 2-1.
Leek were finding it difficult to make their numerical advantage count and found themselves rushing and shooting from all areas which the Wyrley keeper dealt with.
Late in the half another corner resulted in the ball coming to Charlotte Bromley who found Elise Skelding with a good pass in the box and Skelding fired home to make it 3-1 at half time.
The second half was mainly all Leek attacking but could not add to their advantage. Leek hit the bar and the upright and the Wyrley keeper also made several very good saves. Leek had a scare on a Wyrley breakaway but keeper Hannah Austin just managed to keep the ball out. Leek should have capitalised much more but Wyrley defended very well and forced Leek to shoot mainly from outside or edge of box with shots going wide or saved by the keeper. With 15 minutes to go Wyley lost another player to injury. Katie Maya then weaved through the defence and fired wide. Shannon Moores and Alice Naden also had shots saved by the keeper.
Leek could not add to the score and played the game out for a 3-1 win
Wyrley gave Alice Naden as Leek Town player of match
