A good pre-season workout for all players involved today. All players had a good game and got valuable pre-season minutes in their legs. Good all round performance.

Leek started brightly and had a couple of early chances saved by the St John’s Keeper. Simone Kelsall opened the scoring with a tremendous strike from 30 yards on 11 minutes.
3 minutes later and another good save from the St John’s keeper pushing a Lacey-May Smith shot onto the post. Kirsty Ryder again hit the frame of the goal on 18 minutes before another good shot from LM Smith rebounded to Kim Sheldon who slotted home for Leek’s second goal. St John’s battled hard but found it difficult to get through the Leek defence who restricted them to a handful of half chances.
Half time Leek 2 - 0 St John’s.
The second half started with Leek full of running and the third goal came with Rehanne Mellor supplying the assist for Chantelle Gallagher to fire home from 15 yards.
3 minutes later Katie Gibbons found Michaela Lockett who scored running in from a tight angle. The 5th goal came from a Mellor cross with Gallagher heading home. Mellor was soon on the scoresheet for Leek’s 6th goal running past the keeper.
Leek rounded the day off with two goals from Katie Gibbons running through and being superbly supplied by LM Smith (pictured)
