LADIES MAINTAIN 100% LEAGUE RECORD WITH 11th WIN.

Leek went on to the attack from the start and had several good chances which the Florence keeper did well to keep out. On 12 minutes Michaela Lockett supplied Chantelle Gallagher in the box who opened the scoring for Leek.

5 minutes later and Jules Kendrick hit the Florence crossbar with an outrageous flick, Beth Cottrell scored the 2nd goal after chasing what seemed to be a lost cause before combining with Gallagher and firing past the keeper.

Gallagher got her 2nd and Leek’s 3rd after a good through ball from Kendrick.
Florence continued to compete well and a shot from the edge of the box was just wide.

Leek then thought they had won a penalty when it looked like Rhian Morris was brought down in the box but the challenge was adjudged to be outside and a free kick given which again struck the bar. Another good run by Lockett put Lacey-May Smith who side stepped a defender before a good finish for Leeks 4th.

Gallagher completed her hat trick with a great strike after more good work from Cottrell.

Half time: Leek Town Ladies 5 - 0 Florence Ladies.

5 minutes into the second half and Gallagher turned provider linking with Rehanne Mellor who finished well. Katie Gibbons scored Leek’s 7th after running through from midfield and being found by Gallagher.

Gallagher scored twice more, the first after being put through by Gibbons and the second after following up a strong Rehanne Mellor run and shot which came back off the keeper.
Florence continued to compete and for their efforts were rewarded with a goal just before the final whistle.
