This was a very exciting Staffordshire County divisional cup quarter final. Score on 90 minutes was 4-4. AET was 5-5. Leek then won 3-2 on penalties

Great advert for ladies football with both teams playing some good football on a difficult pitch. The game could have gone either way, we are happy to get through to the semi-final. Good luck to Red Street on their league campaign
- Ian Smith, Manager

The Red Street home pitch was very muddy and wet but just playable.
Leek Town Ladies started very well and on 5 minutes Isabel Wretham had a good run down the right hand side and put in a great cross which was met by Emily Boon who scored from an acute angle to give Leek the lead.
After the restart both teams had good chances, Lucy Kelsall and Katie Maya both fired just wide of the goal and at the other end both Emma Smith and Charlotte Bromley were at full stretch to contain the Red Street Forwards.
Red Street then equalised after a good move down the left to make it level again.
Mollie Shaw then prevented another Red Street attack with an excellent interception.
On 30 minutes Leek won a free kick some 20 yards out which was taken by Isabel Wretham and was a great strike beating the keeper to put Leek in front again.
After that it looked like Leek may get on top with Amber Stanway and Kirsty Ryder playing some good football in midfield and providing good opportunities for the forwards. Zarina Miszkiel was then introduced for her ladies debut and did really well.
Red Street however came back again levelling the match at 2-2 just before half time.

The second half started with Red Street on the attack and on 50 minutes they went in front for the first time making it 3-2.
On 60 minutes from another Isabel Wretham free kick Kirsty Ryder scored to again make the scores level.
Becky Rothwell then combined with Elise Skelding who again found Kirsty Ryder who shot straight away finding the net to give Leek a 4-3 advantage.
5 minutes later Alice Naden made a chance for herself but fired just wide of the far post.
Katie Maya also had several good weaving runs at the Red Street defence but just could not quite break through.
Then it was the turn of Red Street again with Hannah Austin making a good save from a strong shot. The breakthrough then came for Red Street when they scored to make it 4-4. End to end followed but on 90 minutes it was 4-4.
Extra time then followed and it was Leek who got the advantage with Elise Skelding pouncing on a goalmouth scramble to score.
Red Street to their credit came back again and were awarded a penalty at the end of the first period of extra time and converted to make it 5-5
The second half of extra time was end to end but no further score.

It was then down to a penalty shoot out with Leek scoring 3 and Red Street 2. So Leek went through on penalties. The scorers of the penalties for Leek were Katie Maya, Kirsty Ryder and Emily Boon. Leek Keeper Hannah Austin saved two penalties.
