Leicester Lions host the northerners this Saturday with a 3pm kick off. This last National 2 North League game of the season was originally scheduled to be away at Tynedale. Due to building works at the beginning of the season at Leicester Lions, the fixtures were reversed and the Lions traveled up to Tynedale back in September for the opening game of the campaign.

Tynedale have a long journey to visit Westleigh Park this week and requested a move in the kick off time from 2pm to 3pm. In true rugby spirit, and as Tynedale accommodated the Lions request to switch the fixtures at the start of the season, kick off has now been pushed back to 3pm.

In the reverse fixture, the Lions got the better of Tynedale, pipping them to the win by slotting a penalty in the penultimate play of the game claiming a 17-20 win.

This week Tynedale will bring everything to the game still needing to secure their future in the league. Tynedale sit just 3 league points above the relegation zone with 4 teams below them. A win for Tynedale will guarantee National 2 rugby next season. A loss will leave them relying of other results in the league going in their favor.

Leicester Lions currently sit third in the league and need to win to cement this third place spot. This all builds for a very exciting and passionate game of rugby.
