Jordan Ponticelli seals big win for Sky Blues

A Jordan Ponticelli brace provided the perfect pick-me-up for the Sky Blues who strengthened their grip on the League Two play-off positions with victory at mid-table Crawley Town.

The 19-year-old former Leicester Road striker was handed his first start since November and justified his selection as he gave Mark Robins’s men the lead and then, having been pulled back to 1-1, bagged a brilliantly placed winner 13 minutes from time to make it three goals in two games for our former youth team player.

Jordan's first was a clinical first time shot after Marc McNulty had pulled the ball back to him from the byline.

Jordan's second came after substitute Max Biamou laid a lovely ball back just inside the apex of the 18-yard box on the right, and the teenager picked his spot by lifting the ball over the keeper and into the far corner to send the 1,197 travelling Sky Blues Army wild behind the goal.

Well done Jordan from everyone at Leicester Road Football Club.
