LEICESTER STORM RLC

The club Thursday training continues this week at New College Leicester, Glenfield Road. Training is on the rugby pitch behind ATS astro-turf.

The training starts at 18:30 with:

Adam Burrows and the Under 11's
Players are of all abilities are encouraged to come down and try out the game

Terry Eliffe and the Under 13's (07504 456985)
This is open for all players aged 12 & 13. Last season's U13 team have progressed into the U14's so all players are encouraged to come down and enjoy the fun.

Mike Corely and the Under 14's
Last season U13 team is getting bigger and bigger, and we still want more. Some of the players are also representing the Midlands Rugby League Squad.

James Carter and the Under 16's
A lot of the squad already know James from his coaching at the Midlands RPDC, but he also has Scotland Under 18 International, Dan Hay, now helping with the coaching. Players such as Dylan Bale, Jason Base and Lewis Chapman all staring for The Midlands recently against Sheffield Eagles.

The Senior sides start training at 19:00

The U18's have their first competitive game of the season against Birmingham Bulldogs on Saturday 12th May. All their games are on a Saturday and the preview to all 1st Grade games. This is a great starting step for many careers in Rugby League; the likes of George Leng (Great Britian & Sheffeild Eagles), Jack Powely (Loughborough University Elite Starting half back & Sheffield Eagles) and Hershall Ward (England U18's) all started the Rugby League career in The Storm U18's and all have a chance of a professional career in Rugby League.

The Academy and 1st Grade encourage players of all ability to train on a Thursday. You will see Tim Farnden's 1st Grade starting 13 run through their attacking field sets and defensive options, and everyone always has a chance for that highly competitive starting jersey.

Storm 1st Grade won their opening game of the season away to Gloucester Warriors, with an excellent performance. Also being in the first grade you do have the chance at a sponsorship. Adam Jones who joined the club at the start of the season is now sponsored by Rockafellas Nightclub in Leicester City Centre.
