Just wanted to thank everyone for their efforts and patience over the years. Made some great friends through this club and the memories will live for a lifetime. Just a shame more of our town, not to mention Wiggin MBC, didn't buy in to it in the same way that we all did. Absolutely heartbreaking situation that I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Although this is something that has not come as a complete surprise it hurts after all the years of following the team around the country. 13 years is a long time.

The news was not slow to get around.

Hi guys - Ashton fan and webmaster here. Desperately sorry to hear of your plight. We all really enjoyed meeting you when you spent a brief spell at Hurst Cross a couple of years back. As you may know we have faced as a result of the court case (and still face) a serious threat to our existence and it is a horrible feeling and stituation to be in. I honestly couldn't imagine life without my football club and I guess you guys feel the same.

All the best for the future whatever that may be.

Sad to hear the news about Genesis. Pity we can't get behind our youth teams and give them a leg up.

Its been a few months since I visited the Leigh site - I am sad to see another non-league team disappear.

I first came onto the Leigh RMI forum in 2007 when MyFootballClub were in discussions with Leigh RMI about the purchase of the club.

MyFC ended up paying (what eventually came to light) £1.9million for Ebbsfleet United - something which has resulted in Ebbsfleet up to its eyeballs in debt and MyFC on the verge of distinction.

I have often wondered what would have happened if MyFC had purchased Leigh RMI instead of EUFC. MyFC had £850,000 in the bank and Leigh RMI would have been purchased for £1. In 2007 MyFC had 4,000 members in the Greater Manchester area and Merseyside and another 3,000 in Yorkshire.

Who knows what would have happened - but £850,000 was a lot of money that could have been invested in Leigh RMI in 2007.
