A Level Playing Field…At Last!
“Thirty years of hurt never stopped us dreaming!” and the wait is almost over!
Lowton Church of England High School together with Leigh Genesis Football Club are thrilled to announce that they have secured the funding to bring the school playing field back to its best and create a home from home for Leigh Genesis' youth and adult teams.

The funding will allow the school to drain and level the field, blowing the whistle on more than three decades of frustration when wellington boots rather than football boots where the order of the day.

Now thanks to nearly £200,000 in funding from Sport England, The Football Foundation and local football club, Leigh Genesis, all that is about to change.

Headteacher, Julian Pollard said, “We are looking forward to the work starting later this month and more importantly to being able to use the grass field from September 2016. This will have a positive impact on our students’ experience of PE and school sport both within the curriculum and beyond. I would like to thank our funding partners for their support and welcome Leigh Genesis to what we hope will be the best football pitches for miles around.”

Club Secretary, Rob Atherton added,

"For many years Leigh Genesis have aspired to have a first class grass pitch facility with access to good quality changing rooms, showers, toilets and car parking. What's more we want a place we can call our home and our partnership with Lowton Cof E High School gives us that and much more. Both the school and club already engage effectively with the local community and with each sharing forward thinking initiatives we expect this to develop positively in the coming years."
