Leigh Genesis U18’s College Team travelled through the Cheshire countryside to visit British Colleges League contenders Reaseneath College.
The hosts started the game well enjoying most of the possession and testing the Genesis back midfield and defence. As the first half progressed Genesis started to make regular counter attacks at speed that made Reaseneath nervous. As a consequence the side began to be less adventurous and with 30 minutes gone the home side did not provide a threat for the remainder of the game.
0 – 0 at half time, Genesis came out guns blazing and created chance after chance that went unconverted. It was left to right back Jack Bosley to open the scoring with a 30 yard shot that was as high as it was long, which outfoxed the Reaseneath goal keeper.
Five minutes later a 25 yard powerful swerving drive from Chad Hill was just too hot for the keeper to handle to put Genesis 2 – 0 up.
Overall a good away win for Genesis which puts Genesis firmly in the chasing pack of the top 2.
