Leigh RFC is keen to support the local community and other clubs within Leigh and the surrounding area. With many of our members having some connection to Leigh Primary School we are helping to raise awareness of this forthcoming fund raising event.
Should you wish to book tickets for the day/evening or discuss this event further, please contact Lynn Hickson at

With £76,000 raised so far for
Leigh Primary School’s new classroom, the school is embarking on the final phase of fund raising in order to meet their target of £96,000 before 31st March 2012.
To this end they are organising a golf day and auction at
Nizels Golf and Country Club, to be held on the 23rd March 2012. This event is open invitation.
The day has been organised by the school’s Fundraising Working Party and Sacramento Events, a charity fund raising company founded by Graham Cowdrey, the former Kent cricketer. Both Graham and his brother Chris (ex-England cricket team captain) have been a huge help to the fund raising team, and Chris has kindly penciled himself in to act as the MC/auctioneer on the night.
Golfers
A round of golf will take place from around 11.00am onwards (timings tbd), and is open to all golfers. 18 teams of four golfers to play – places can be booked by fully-formed teams of four or by individuals - and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. If you cannot make up a full team, please do not let that dissuade you from taking part as the event team can make up teams from individual golfers prior to the event.
Each golfer will be given a bacon roll and a cup of tea or coffee prior to the start of their round, and in the evening will sit down around 7pm to a two course meal. To add an extra competitive element to the golf, we will also be holding nearest the pin/longest drive competitions – prizes for the lucky winners.
The full cost for the day – golf and sit-down meal – is £65.00 per golfer.
Evening Guests
There are a limited number of evening guest places priced at £25.00 per person for a two course meal. In the first instance these limited places will be offered to golfers’ partners, but a waiting list system will be employed for interested non-golfing parties. If you would like to attend the evening function, please contact the fund raising team at the e-mail address provided above.
The Auction
Both silent and live auctions will take place after the meal has finished. The value of prizes on offer will vary, so there should be something to suit the wallets of everyone wishing to bid. Some fantastic prizes have already been given, including a tour of the House of Commons (led by a sitting MP); a 3-month family membership at Tonbridge School Sports Centre; rounds of golf and the use of a holiday cottage for a week in France (Limoges)…the prize pot is growing all the time and items will be publicised prior to the event.
