Rugby treasure of the century found in spare room.

In breaking news its to be announced today that Leigh RUFC will launch a bid to keep Kev The Cats exercise bike in Leigh.

After many years of non use the bike, fresh from its wrapping is to be placed on the internet auction site Leighbay.

And the interest in bidding for this piece of sporting memorabillia is keen, The RFU Museum of Rugby at Twickenham have said that after William Webb-Ellis' jock strap this is the holy grail of Rugby related sporting equipment.

RFU spokesman Rupert Cheesie-Boxer commented

"This exercise bike was bought as an attempt to reinvigerate Kev The Cats glittering Rugby career, unfortunatly it came at a time when lager was showing its ugly head and as such has left this valuable national rugby treasure in almost showroom condition."

Indeed, apart from some slight damage where the exercise bike was used as a clothes horse for when Kev came in from the pub and some slight kebab staining its A1.

Leigh RUFC's Director of Historical Artifacts, Anne Gough (think about it, she tells Leakey what to do) is quoted as saying

"Well if Widnes can have a Museum then so can we, We've got enough in from match subs and can stretch to about £16, we are appealing to the local business community for the extra £4 we need"

Only one artifact from Kev's many years of peak conditioning can trump this and if it ever comes up for auction it could fetch hundreds. Legend has it that Kev turned his spare room into a home gym and along with the exercise bike there was rumoured to be a dart board at the back of the door.

English Rugby can only dream.....................
