Sarah does it again !!

Not only has Leigh Rugby Union Club won CAMRA's Regional Club of the Year again in 2011, but this year has also been awarded a place in the prestigious Good Beer Guide 2012.

Out of over 3000 places that are awarded each year, there have been only 2 rugby clubs included. The quality and range of beers on offer at this little club tucked away in Pennington are just two of the factors that have helped along the way.

It is also one of the few clubs that field a great ladies team that compliment the growing number of mini and junior teams which then filter through to play on one of the senior teams.

The club manages to go from strength to strength each year, not only on the rugby pitch, but also by organising numerous charity and community events. The annual Scrumdown Beer Festival is always well supported, as is the Bonfire Spectacular, which this year will be held on Friday 4th. November. The added attraction of Bonfire Night is the real fire, which draws people from all corners of Leigh, knowing they can bring their children to a safe organised display, with outside bar, games, food and disco – something for everyone.

Have you seen these?
