“FUN, FRIENDS and FOOTBALL and are open to players of all abilities and experience from beginners to club players #for the girls for the future”
Wildcats will resume with its free girls football on Tuesday 19th June 2018 following a short break this Saturday.
Leighton United is privileged to be one of only three Wildcats Girls' Football Clubs in Bedfordshire to provide young girls with increased opportunities to play football as part of English FAs new nationwide football participation programme.
Weekly free coaching sessions will be based around the needs of young players and will focus on FUN, FRIENDS and FOOTBALL and are open to players of all abilities and experience from beginners to club players
Our aim is that by providing accessible football, we help girls to decide if they are keen to play in the future and help them find an environment suited to them. Open to all girls of all abilities, from those just starting out to others who already play in a team – by holding our sessions on a Saturday AM now that the Bedfordshire Girls Football League matches have finished, sessions will not interfere with any club training sessions and won’t an alternative for those involved in grassroots football already. It should however help girls to get more football, experience and attract new players to the game.
Whilst hosted at Leighton United session are open to all players of any clubs and through working with a wide variety of coaches across girls’ teams in Bedfordshire we also aim to connect girls who wish to play football next season to clubs and teams with places.
